First of all, Beet Kvass is essentially a fermented beverage, loaded with probiotics which help to rebalance and nourish our human microbiome. It's super easy to make, all you need is a glass jar, organic beets, spring water and salt. Beet Kvass is loaded with friendly bacteria, liver nourishing b-vitamins and enzymes. Beets also help to thin the bile which is essential for healthy digestion and unbeknownst to many, bile sludge and low bile production can be a hidden root cause factor to many digestive ailments.
🌿 Recipe:
You want your jar a third of the way full of peeled and cut raw beets (preferably organic). I like to add just one or two slices of ginger, organic onion and cabbage (you don't have to, but I prefer the taste this way.) I use 2-gallon jars for my ferments and for this recipe 2 tablespoons of Celtic or baja or Himalayan salt is good. Fill the jar with the best pure water you can find, cover with a lid loosely, and allow to ferment for 12 days (make sure to shake it once every day or two). Store in your fridge.
One of the top home remedies for gut health and also to energize and nourish the liver.
I also wanted to share something I discuss with many of my clients, preparing natural remedies yourself at home has a far greater healing effect than simply buying them ready made. It's part of the healing process to not feel but be empowered with knowledge and skill.
So arise and enjoy your journey 😊
